Good for our community
Turbos rugby is good for the Manawatu. It unites our community and gives us a sense of pride and excitement - if you've been to a Turbos home game and seen the bucket heads out in full force, you know what we mean. (And if you haven't been to a game yet, you should go. The atmosphere is electric!)

Good for local athletes
The Turbos give top local rugby players a chance to develop their talent without leaving the Manawatu. "The importance of the Turbos staying in the premier competition of the Air New Zealand Cup cannot be understated," says Manawatu Rubgy Union CEO John Knowles. "It is good for us all, and continues to provide a platform upon which our own, home-grown players can aspire to Super 14 and All Black rugby status."

Good for business
"The Turbos have certainly done their bit in advertising Manawatu as a proud and significant New Zealand province," says Mr. Knowles. "There are significant economic benefits of having a top division rugby team in the region."
